This is an AU story, using the cast of Final Fantasy VII. Its a supernatural story, inspired by too much X-files, set in New York in our days. The story deals with shounen-ai / yaoi, but isnt likely to get too graphic, because I cant write good lemons The pairings are Sephiroth x Cloud, Cid x Vincent and Sephiroth x Vincent.
The characters doesnt belong to me, no matter how much I wish otherwise. Instead, theyre the property of Squaresoft, who probably wont really need to sue me, seeing how I am a broke student while they are a giant company. Oh, and Vincents a vampire in this. I know thats not canon, but this is an AU.
Cloud groaned and turned of the alarm clock that was buzzing into his ear. He hated waking up, and would much rather stay in bed. However, he had work to attend to. Getting out of bed, he found his clothes and laid them on a chair, before taking a shower. When he was finished, he got dressed and brushed his hair into the spiky style he always kept it. He was going to be working with Emerald today, and the last thing he needed was to have his cousin calling him a girly boy all day. Emerald never grew up.
Ruby and his three brothers werent really Clouds cousins, as Cloud had no known family. But they were the closest thing he had to one. Ultimate, the oldest, always treated him like a child. It was annoying. Emerald was a pain most of the time, always teasing. Diamond hardly ever said anything, but he always watched. He was definitely the creepiest of them. The one Cloud got most along with was Ruby. They usually allied themselves against Emerald. The cross-dresser had some sick ideas, though. Like being in love with Ultimate. And their parents must have been as crazy as their sons. Whod call their son Ultimate? Cloud wondered, and took a look in the mirror.
Deciding that his hair looked okay, he grabbed his coat and left. On the way to the office, he stopped to pick up two bagels from a bakery, one for breakfast and one for lunch. He never ate much, so he didnt see the point in buying as ton of food and stuff it in his fridge. He got back in his car and continued to the office.

As he entered, he found Ruby and Ultimate in the reception, talking together. Or rather, Ultimate was talking and Ruby was giggling like a madman. Nothing unusual about that. Hi Cloud, Ultimate said, and scowled at his madly giggling brother. Cloud smiled slightly. Hi. Whats up with him? he asked. Ultimate grimaced. Scarlet walked in on Mr. Shinra and Tseng having a prioritized meeting earlier. She looked just about ready to kill someone when she came through here. Ruby thinks it is hilarious, the tall, black-haired man sighed. Cloud raised an eyebrow. Maybe shell stop hitting on Mr. Shinra now, he mused. Ruby, finally calming down, grinned. Mr. Shinra sent her to the Science Dome, as punishment. Shes going to be angry with him for about a week, then shell be trying to set him straight again. The redhead burst out giggling again. Cloud smiled. Science Dome, huh? If were lucky, shell kill Hojo, he said, smiling a little at that aspect, and left, hunting for his partner.

He found Cid lurking in the corridors outside the library. The older blond was smoking, as usual, and he was trying to look inconspicuous. Cloud stifled a laugh and snuck up behind the other man, and cleared his throat loudly. Cid cursed and spun around quickly, gun in hand. What the fuck did ya do that for? Cloud merely smiled. You looked ridiculous like that, Cid. Thats why Im your superior. I know what Im doing. Cid grumbled, but didnt say anything. What are you hanging around here for, anyway? Cloud asked, amused. Cid grumbled some more. Im hiding from Shera. That fucking womans stalking me!
Cloud sighed, and fished a keycard out of his pocket. It doesnt matter. I had to go to the library anyway. He opened the door and peered into the room. Are you coming? He asked. Cid followed him, still grumbling.
Cloud smiled. There were few places as peaceful as the Shinra library. And there were hardly ever people there, either. Today, the only person he could see was Diamond, but the slender man was always in the library, so that wasnt a surprise. He waved to his cousin and got an acknowledging smile in return. Nothing unusual about that, either. Cloud smiled to himself, and went to find the librarian.
The librarian was quite unique, and Cloud liked him a lot, but most people were nervous around him. Nanaki was a huge creature, looking like a cross between a lion and a dog. His bright red fur and fiery tail had earned him the nickname Red but Cloud and his cousins all used his real name. After all, they knew that even though he was an animal, Nanaki was smarter than most humans, and far better company. Diamond, in particular, was fond of the librarian. Currently, Nanaki was seated in a chair made especially for him, and was looking over a pile of new books, but he looked up as Cloud approached, and his tail started wagging. Cloud smiled, pleased to see his friend. Cid looked like he expected Nanaki to leap of his chair and eat him.
Cloud, Nanaki said, happily, as they came closer. Its nice to see you. Cloud smiled. Same to you, my friend. Tell me, Nanaki, how many creatures are capable of something like this? He tossed some photos from the murder scene down on the book pile. Nanaki paled, something that looked odd on a red animal, and stared at the photos. I can think of only two, Jenova, and a creature reported only once, a creature with an angels face, and a devils soul. The One Winged Angel
